Strong Research and Development Capabilities and Industry Know-How
We place strong emphasis on research in applying biotechnology and other technologies in environmental remediation. Our efforts have enabled us to successfully develop our proprietary process, the BMS Biological Process Technology. Our research and development team comprised 55 researchers, most of whom possess technical know-how and requisite qualifications in their relevant areas of expertise. In addition, we have established a Technology Advisory Committee comprising a team of experienced researchers and university professors who serve as external technical advisers to our research and development team.
We have also entered into various collaboration arrangements with universities and research institutions in the PRC for the research and development of different bio-technology related projects. These external collaboration arrangements complement our in-house research and development activities.
Through our efforts in research and development, we believe that we are well positioned to further expand our market share and widen our customer base by continuing to provide our customers with innovative technology and products.
First Mover's Advantage
In 1993, in anticipation of the growing concern for the environment in the PRC and the strong government support for environmental protection, we commenced our research and development on the use of biotechnological and ecological techniques in the treatment of wastewater and sewage.
Our research led to our use of micro-organisms in the treatment of wastewater and sewage in 1993. In 1999, we were able to develop commercial products utilising our proprietary BMS Biological Process Technology. Our Directors believe that our familiarity with the PRC business environment and our early entry into the environmental protection industry in the PRC has allowed us to establish a reputation as one of the pioneers in utilising biotechnology in the environmental protection industry in the PRC. Our Directors believe that we are well positioned to further expand our existing market share and market coverage in the PRC.
Innovative Technology and Products
Our Directors believe that our technology and products are innovative in the environmental protection industry in the PRC. Our BMS Biological Process Technology has various advantages over the traditional biological wastewater treatment methods such as the activated sludge process. Our BMS Biological Process Technology is integrated and versatile in design and operation. We believe that our BMS Biological Process Technology has a competitive edge as it has lower operating and maintenance costs, controls the emission of significant objectionable odour and eliminates the need for separate residual sludge treatment and disposal. Equipped with our innovative technology and products, we believe we possess a competitive edge over our competitors.
Proven Track Record
We have established relationships with over 250 customers in respect of our wastewater treatment projects and sales of environmental products. In the last two financial years, we have undertaken over 200 wastewater treatment projects in the PRC.
With our track record, we believe we are well positioned for future expansion under the existing and new geographical coverage.
Commitment to Quality
We are committed to deliver quality services and products. In the last financial two years, we have not received any material complaints from our customers and have not experienced any material return of goods or refusal to release retention monies in respect of our BMS wastewater treatment projects from our customers. Our Directors believe that this is a testimony of our customers' satisfaction. We have also obtained ISO 14001:1996 certification for our environmental management system and ISO 9001:2000 certification for our manufacturing process on 30 September 2003 and 3 October 2003 respectively. We believe our commitment to delivering quality services and products will place us at the forefront of our industry.
